Common Questions

What happens at my first psychiatric appointment? +
Your first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation lasting about 90 minutes. Your psychiatrist will review your medical and mental health history, discuss your current symptoms, and collaboratively develop a treatment plan with you.
Will I definitely be prescribed medication? +
Not necessarily. Medication is one of many tools. Your psychiatrist will only recommend medication if it is clinically indicated and you are comfortable with it. Many conditions are effectively managed through therapy alone or a combination approach.
How long will I need to continue treatment? +
Treatment duration varies widely by condition and individual. Some patients achieve their goals in a few months; others benefit from longer-term support. We review your progress regularly and adjust accordingly.
Is everything I share kept confidential? +
Yes. Your privacy is paramount. All information shared with your care team is strictly confidential and protected under medical ethics and applicable privacy laws, with very limited exceptions required by law.
